New Year Newsletter - Jan 2026

We hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and a happy New Year! We’ve got a few updates to share, including some changes to our timetable and information about upcoming events.

Key Dates

New Timetable

From Monday, the 5th of January, we’ll be introducing an updated class timetable to better reflect member attendance and feedback. The new schedule includes additional class options, including a Kids class that will run alongside an adult Intervals class at 4:00 pm on Thursdays, as well as some adjusted class times. Please take a moment to review the new timetable to ensure you’re aware of any changes to your usual training sessions.

New Classes

GRID class is inspired by the GRID League and is built around short, intense work periods that challenge both fitness and movement quality. Sessions focus on short efforts, execution, and efficient transitions, combining gymnastics skills, sprint-style conditioning, and power-based movements.

Skills classes are designed to help members develop specific technical movements. Tuesday Skills sessions will run for 40–60 minutes and focus on higher-skill movements such as muscle-ups and advanced progressions, allowing time for drilling, coaching, and controlled practice. Friday Skills sessions will be shorter (15–20 minutes) and will run after the 4:00 pm CrossFit class or before the 5:20 pm HIT45 class, targeting simpler but essential skills such as double unders and handstands.

We’re also introducing a Kids class for ages 6–12, aimed at building confidence, coordination, and a love of movement in a fun and safe environment. Kids classes are available through three options: a monthly membership, a 10-class pack, or single class purchases, all available to purchase via TeamUp.

The Kids class will run alongside an adult Intervals class at 4:00 pm on Thursdays. The Intervals class is a high-intensity conditioning session built around repeated efforts and structured rest. We’ve also added an additional Intervals class earlier in the day at 9:30 am.

You may also notice some class name changes and timetable adjustments. These updates were made to improve clarity and better reflect the purpose of each class, as well as to respond to member feedback and attendance trends. One key change is moving Engine to Wednesday mornings, allowing our morning members to prioritise the strength cycle on Monday mornings and use Wednesday as a mid-week active recovery or conditioning-focused session.

This timetable isn’t set in stone, and we’d love to hear your feedback. Please drop Steve or Bizzie a message, or have a chat with us in class, to let us know what you’re enjoying, what’s working well, or if you’d like to see a class offered at a different time.

Padel Tournament

We’d love for you to join us for a fun, social round-robin Padel tournament on Sunday 25th January at 1:00 pm at Cheltenham Padel Club. The event is open to everyone, so don’t worry if you’ve never played before. We’ve reserved two courts, so make sure to book in early. If we get lots of people signed up early, we’ll look to book an additional court. Spaces are available to book now via TeamUp, with a £12 registration fee.

We hope you have a great rest of your weekend,

Steve, Bizzie, and The CrossFit Cheltenham Coaching Team
